City Squash, Bronx, N.Y.

  • City Squash is an after-school tutoring and sports program for sixth-graders and eighth-graders.
  • Participants come from Middle School 45 and train at Fordham University.
  • Children and teenagers receive homework support and learn how to play squash.
  • Participants are required to come back as volunteers.
  • Granted $1000 to fund additional student participation.

Summer Academy of Convent of the Sacred Heart

  • Summer Academy is a summer academic program for children from low-income families in the community.
  • It is a summer outreach program for 200 students, grades 2-9.
  • More than 50 CSH students and faculty members volunteer at the Summer Academy during the summer.
  • Granted $1000 to fund art and computer supplies for the children.

Head Start, Mount Kisco, N.Y.

  • Head Start is an organization dedicated to educating three and four-year-olds, many from low-income families.
  • Granted $1000 to fund educational field trips for the children.

Cerebral Palsy Center of Westchester County

  • The Cerebral Palsy Center runs a summer camp for disabled children, ages 3-12. 
  • Granted $500 grant to fund specialized pool supplies to aid the children in swimming.
